How Does Solar Work?

Solar energy works by capturing the sun’s rays and converting them into usable energy. Solar panels are made up of photovoltaic cells that absorb the sun’s energy and convert it into electricity. The electricity is then sent to an inverter, which converts the power from DC to AC. This electricity is then sent to the electrical panel to be used to power your home or business. Solar installations require very little maintenance, and the energy produced is clean and renewable.

Paperwork & Agreement

After your initial consultation, you will sign the agreement that outlines the terms and conditions for your system.  There is NO money out of pocket for the install, with the exception of cash customers who will have to provide a deposit prior to work being started.

Site Eligibility

A solar professional will conduct a survey of your residential roof, trusses and electrical panel to ensure they are up to code and in sufficient condition for installation.

Installation & Permissions

After the site survey results are reported, as long as the outcome is favorable, requests are submitted to the local municipality or county for permits.  Upon the permit being issued, our project department will contact you for scheduling your installation.

Utility Connection

Upon completion of installation, inspections are performed by the municipality and applications are submitted to the utility company for interconnection and meter replacement.

Solar On!

The final step in receiving PTO (permission to operate) is the utility company approving all applications and subsequently switching on your new net meter.
